The brief: To create a series of black and white illustrations, including a map and icons for each chapter, along with a full colour cover for a fantasy adventure book. The book is written by a self published author and is a fantasy adventure for young readers, aged 8-12 .

When a small but determined Little Brown Quail joins her, Ngawai sets off on a daring quest to find the lost goddess and bring balance back to their world.

Their journey takes them far beyond the mountains, through magical lands where they meet strange and wondrous creatures, face unexpected dangers, and make extraordinary friendships.

The story synopsis

Ngawai lives in the sun-scorched land of Celta, where drought has left the fields cracked and empty, her people hungry. Her mother often speaks of Maia, the ancient goddess who once kept the seasons in balance – but no one has seen Maia in a very long time.
